Welcome to our Beautiful Heirloom Home inspired by the William Morris quote:
“If you want a golden rule that will fit everything, this is it: Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” ― William Morris
We wanted to create something that celebrated the skills and heritage from the past and how to create beautiful treasures for the future. In years gone by skilled craftspeople laboured over exquisite and beautiful items that stood the test of time. We want to identify these treasures and recognise those who still practise those skills and encourage new people to learn these skills so that this knowledge is not lost forever.
ABOUT THE CREATORS
Beautiful Heirloom Home is created by Mother and Daughter team Kaye Thorne and Louise Sinclair, also known for their lifestyle online magazine – Hot Brands Cool Places (www.hotbrandscoolplaces.com). We wanted to create a space for homes and gardens but also for special treasures that we find, photography, styling and so much more.
We both have a passion for the beautiful and special, Kaye loves to spend hours making art, with her camera or working on embroidery and Louise is often creating special pieces of art, taking photographs or in the garden cultivating cut flowers for her antique vases.
We hope you enjoy our little space of beautiful and if you would like to get in touch with us please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Kaye is the Editor-in-Chief of Hot Brands Cool Places. Her previous experience was as well-respected business writer, employee engagement/branding consultant and talent coach acting as a sounding board to senior managers and Directors, but for the last ten years her focus has been in digital publishing. Her passions lie in design, creativity and sourcing beautiful things, Beautiful Heirloom Home is an opportunity to share this knowledge with others and within our online shop.
In her spare time she loves escaping to the coast, a love of the sea led her and Louise to creating Seashore Creative, which is a celebration of all things coastal.
Louise is a designer, illustrator and creator with a passion to incorporate creative ways to make a house welcoming and full of joy. She is a self confessed foodie and is passionate about keeping a home beautiful. She loves to bake, organise, clean and sort and can often be found in the garden tending to her beloved seedlings and plants. She thrives on finding perfect pieces for our online shop and contributes to our website not only with the design but to also share her knowledge and design skills within the website.
