Caerhays Holidays

Experience the timeless magic of Cornwall’s castle by the sea

Caerhays Estate has launched a new Cornish holiday business called Caerhays Holidays, caerhaysholidays.co.uk.

For the first time, people who want to experience the magic of Cornwall’s private Castle by the sea, will be able to choose from a portfolio of unique, historic holiday estate properties to stay in.

Caerhays has been owned since 1860 by the Williams family, and is world-renowned for its award winning National Magnolia Collection, English Heritage Listed Grade II* woodland gardens, spectacular Spring Gardens and more recently has achieved world fame as the location for Tim Burton’s hit movie, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. The Cornish estate is situated just a few miles from The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Mevagissey on the stunning southern Cornish coast.

Caerhays Holidays has brought together for the first time a portfolio of 12 unique estate properties which the public are able to book directly via the new website caerhaysholidays.co.uk and the Caerhays Holidays team.

The Caerhays Holidays portfolio includes the timelessly elegant Burncoose House, a stunning Georgian House, available for exclusive house hire, located next to the Chelsea Gold winning Burncoose Nurseries, part of the Caerhays Estate.  Also available is The Vean, an genteel Georgian country house situated next to the Castle, already popular as an exclusive hire venue for weddings and luxury B&B.

Less well known places to stay are some of Caerhays’ hidden gems: The Rabbit Warren, tucked within the castle itself, The Fish Sheds, a converted fish shed, right on the waterfront, where once pilchards were marinated for winter consumption, The Boathouse, an upside down house with sea views, The Engine House, right next to Caerhays Spring Gardens, Bottom Lodge, a romantic turreted lodge in the gatehouse of the Castle, The Lime Kiln, a bolthole for the adventurous located on West Portholland Beach, The Old Cart House, originally a storage barn for the state’s horse drawn carts, the spacious Old Village Hall and further afield, recently modernised and beautifully renovated barns, Parc An Bounder and Percuil View close to the busy seaside town of St. Mawes.

Each of the properties have been luxuriously and comfortably furnished with an eye on preserving their own its own distinct quirks and historically unique features. The properties range in size range from sleeping two to 16 people. Most of the properties are self-catering, while The Vean and Burncoose offer bespoke concierge services with the option to be fully catered by a private chef.

“We’re pleased and excited to be launching Caerhays Holidays,” said Charles Williams, owner of the Caerhays Estate. “Caerhays is a uniquely beautiful and historic Cornish estate. We want people to experience the timeless magic of time spent at Caerhays. There are so many things to discover here from visiting the beach and beach cafe next to the castle, to touring our magical world famous Spring Gardens, to enjoying our historic tearooms, to taking an exclusive private tour of the castle to visiting award winning Burncoose Nurseries. A stay at Caerhays is an opportunity to lose yourself in a truly fascinating part of Cornwall’s heritage.”
